The equipment we use is a Radalink AirCat CRM (continuous radon monitor). This is one of the most sophisticated monitors in use today. Not only does it take a radon sampling every hour but also records the barometric pressure, humidity, and temperature as that data may have an effect on the test or may indicate tampering with the test. Full page professional reports including graphs of the data are generated; not just a ticker tape of the data collected. Location of the monitor in the tested property is in accordance with US EPA protocols. The monitor will remain in position for 48 hours or longer. Please read the homeowner's "Instructions for a Radon Test" for more information on closed house conditions and the radon test.
Every year, it is estimated that Radon is responsible for nearly as many deaths in the U.S. as people that were killed in car crashes! You're cautious enough to wear seatbelts to protect yourself in the event of a possible car crash...Right!? Then why ignore the risk that Radon poses to you and your loved ones by neglecting to test its level in your home?
The majority of Montana is classified by the EPA as a "Zone 1" area.
Before you discount the possible dangers of Radon, consider this: If you are 50 years old, an estimated 1,050,000 people have died from Radon exposure during your lifetime. Approximately 145,000 of them have never smoked.
Radon is an odorless, colorless, tasteless, radioactive gas that has been found in homes all over the United States. The EPA estimates that 1 in 15 homes nationwide have Radon levels greater than 4 pCi/L and should be mitigated. Breathing radon gas for prolonged periods of time can present a significant health risk for your family. Radon is the NUMBER ONE cause of Lung Cancer among Non-Smokers and is the 2nd leading cause of Lung Cancer overall.
Generally speaking, Radon is an easy fix.
Lung and Stomach Cancer are Not.
